1936(C) INDIA 1/12 ANNA, IM-509, NGC MS 64BN This is a lovely coin, lustrous 50% red, 50% brown anna in Gem condition. It is 84 years old this year. A highly desirable, high quality coin for the discerning collector of Indian coins. The anna was a currency unit formerly used in British India and Pakistan, equal to ​1⁄16 of a rupee. It was demonetized in 1957, when India went to a decimal based currency system. The obverse features a profile portrait of George V, King of Great Britain and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India - if I said that correctly. It was a common coin in 1936, today it's rare in this condition.
