1966 US Mint SMS
For several years the United States Mint did not produce uncirculated or proof sets. What they released instead was called the Special Mint Set. This is often abbreviated as SMS.
The coins in the 196 US Mint SMS are a bit of a cross between business strike and proof strike coins. Although the dies were not polished, these coins were struck on presses with more power than those used for business strikes and this exceptional strike quality gives the SMS coins a unique look.

The 1966 Special Mint set will arrive in its original government packaging. Since this set were not purchased directly from the US Mint by myself, imperfections may be present. However, every effort has been made to preserve this set as much as possible.
Each 1966 SMS contains a Kennedy half dollar, a Washington quarter, a Roosevelt dime, a Jefferson nickel, a Lincoln cent, and a plastic token. This set may have been around for quite a while now, but the coins still look great with their unique appearance.
